Research On Inventory Control Strategy Based On Distribution Of Chain Retail Business

As the integration of the world economy moves on and China enters into WTO, the chain retail business faces more and more severe challenges. In order to become more competitive in the fierce market, the chain retail business of our country must further optimize its system logistics cost on the basis of its better customer's service.On the basis of studying the traditional inventory control strategy, this thesis analyzes the limitation of the traditional inventory control strategy for the chain retail business-the incapacity to optimize the logistics cost from systematic angle. Then, it puts forward applying the idea of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) to the inventory management of chain retail business. On this basis, the thesis makes extensive research on the traditional inventory control theory.For the chain retail business consisting of a single distribution center and n geographically dispersed chain branches, the thesis firstly carries on expanding research on the quantitative order model, puts the distribution costs into it, develops the inventory/distribution optimal model for a single item arises at a deterministic rate, which is suitable for A goods and some important B and C goods, and puts forward an interactive method to solve this problem, gains the Economic Order Quantity which can minimize the system costs of a regular period.The thesis also carries on expanding research on the periodic order model, puts the distribution costs into it, and develops the inventory/distribution optimal model for joint replenishment with multi-commodity arises at a deterministic rate, which is suitable for B and C goods. In the same way, the paper uses an interactive method to gain the Economic Order Interval.The innovation and the important practical value of this thesis comprises mainly: (1) this thesis proposes to apply the idea of VMI in the inventory control of logistics system inside the chain retail business and proves its feasibility, this is the basis for chain retail business to optimize the inventory costs and the distribution costs at the same time. (2) This text develops the inventory/distribution optimal model for a single item and joint replenishment with multi-commodity respectively which arises at a deterministic rate, and puts forward an interactive method to solve this problem. The application of inventory/distribution strategy in the chain retail business can overcome the deficiency of the traditional inventory control theory and can optimize thelogistics cost of the chain retail business further. Therefore, the research of this thesis has a very important theoretical significance and practical value for the chain retail business.
