How to operate with low cost based on satisfying the customers' demands rapidly and efficiently is a big challenge to many enterprises. Now the inventory has been becoming a heavy burden to most IT enterprises. With the fluctuation of the price of electrical components, enterprises have to lower the price of product to reduce the stock; however, if enterprises don't stock a proper number of products, they may lose many customers during the peak season and their credits may suffer as well. Such contradictory problems raise high demand for the inventory management, and how to deal with their inventory is an urgent task to the enterprises. According to the advent of inventory management model in the supply chain, some effective methods are provided to solve the inventory problem.This paper studies the issue of inventory from the angle of supply chain. It starts with a literature review on the background, the significance of the study on the supply chain. In Chapter Two, by general introduction on Hisense company, the IT industry, and the channel structure, the paper describes the present development of IT field as well as the position of Hisense Company in it. Chapter Three includes the basic theory of inventory and the descriptions on the traditional inventory management models; in addition, it puts forward several models in the supply chain, such as Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Jointly Managed Inventory (JMI), etc. According to the theories of Chapter 3, Chapter 4 points out the inventory problems in Hisense computer company, then the product types and the inventory products are categorized into A, B and C respectively. Based on these A,B,C, categories and the demand fluctuation of the products, the products are subdivided; moreover, the "Gold, Silver, Bronze" classification is proposed. Different solutions as to the different zones are provided. The general effects of JMI is also concluded and evaluated in this chapter. Based on the findings of the present study, this paper gives the implications on the further research in the future.
