Nowadays, the existing environment of companies has changed radically: market demand is variable, technology has making a big improvement and the competition in the market is becoming more and more fierce. The competitive advantages mainly lie in whether the company has the ability of quick response to the market and has enough flexibility. Fortunately, the lean production was appear for cater those. The essence of it is that configuring and utilizing the company's production elements reasonably in an optimizing sense, eliminating all of the working and process with non-added value, pursuing the ultimate excellence to enhance the ability of catering the market demand and to gain more profit. Since the company with lean production outsource the large part of its design and spare parts manufacture, its purchasing management is far more important.This paper is devoted to the method of how to manage the supplier strategically in the new background mentioned above. Introduce the deference between the lean production and other models of production. By the way of demonstration and on the basis of deep investigating into the companies with lean production, I put forward some probable relations among deferent suppliers under this production and made some models to select suppliers and to value the performance of supplier management, and so on. At the same time, I explained the way to use these models according to the conditions of companies.How to manage the supplier in the lean production is a relatively new field. So far, study on this field is very poor in the world, especially in domestic. In my paper, I put forward some operational models and methods and also tried to give some references to the company who wants to configure and utilize resources efficiently.
