The labor-capital relationship, as a kind of important social relationship, has been paid concern to by many sectors of social sciences and attention to from governments of various nations. This is because the situation of labor-capital is related to the normal development of productive forces, to the stability of the society and to the normal operation of production and business of enterprises. In our country, the labor-capital relationship emerged with the emergence of non-public enterprises. After the 1990s, owing to reasons of various respects, the labor-capital relationship has been tending to be intensified. The current situation urgently requires that a deep theoretical analysis and study should be made on relationships in non-public enterprises and effective improvement methods should be put forward. The study on the current labor-capital relationships, in most cases, is focused on the research of the current situation, problems, reasons and countermeasures of the present labor-capital relationships. However, macroscopically, there is little, or not systematic and sufficient, study on what a kind of labor-capital relationship should be established under the current social and historical conditions. Though domestic scholars have put forward viewpoints on the establishment of harmonious and stable labor-capital relationships, up to now, there is a lack of quite deep and systematic studies on problems such as the connotation of harmonious and stable labor-capital relationships, the inevitability and possibility of the establishment of such relationships, the foundation, principles and models of the establishment of harmonious and stable labor-capital relationships. Therefore, the study of such problems is taken as the center of the thesis. It is assumed in the thesis that, in the socialist preliminary stage, a harmonious and stable labor-capital relationship should be established and efforts have been made to summarize and illustrate the meaning of the harmonious and stable labor-capital relationships. It is pointed out that a harmonious and stable labor-capital relationship does not mean that there is no contradiction, opposition and interest conflicts, but means a relaxation of labor-capital conflicts. The contradiction between labor and capital is not expressed in fierce antagonistic contradiction, but is expressed in non-antagonistic contradiction that is relaxed and may be solved through consultation and discussion. Generally speaking, in the preliminary stage of socialism, the unity of the labor-capital contradiction is in a leading position and this decides that there is a foundation and possibility to regulate and relax the labor-capital relationship. Viewing from the Chinese and foreign history and effects obtained from the practice in the regulation of labor-capital relationships in reality, a certain system arrangement and necessary cultural adjustment are certain to transit the labor-capital relationship from intensity to relaxation and to change from contradiction to cooperation. In this thesis, the property of labor-capital relationships is analyzed, and the practical experience of domestic and foreign regulation of labor-capital relationships is summarized. Based on this, it is summarized that in order to establish harmonious and stable labor-capital relationships, it is necessary to adhere to principles of the force-balance of both sides of labor and capital, the regulation from the government, equal benefit for labor and capital, equal consultation and the enhancement of cooperation. The thesis assumes that to establish harmonious and stable labor-capital relationships it is necessary to depend on the government in strengthening the legal construction, to bring actions of trade unions into full play, and to pay attention to the countermeasures of cultural regulation. In addition, measures for cultural regulation are specially emphasized.
