A Study In Hotel Change

The study of change is always combined with cases. I happened to take part in a change process of a state-owned five-star hotel from the beginning. Although the organizational change is still going on, there are some prominent issues that can be analyzed using the cases or using the theories of thinking only. This paper keeps trace on this change of this case till may 23, 2004, only a few days ago.This paper consists of five parts. The first part is an introduction, which has summarized the writing motive, the goal as well as the significance of this paper. The second part introduces several classical theoretical models and tools about change, including E/O model of the dynamics of intentional ( Beer. Michael and Nitin. Nohria) and the process model of Kotter.The third part is the comprehensive introduce of industrial environment of the leading character in this case. This part will let us clearly understand the change necessity of G hotel. The fourth part is the case. This part not only provided the background of the G hotel to start to implement the comprehensive management promotion, but also fully and accurately recorded the entire process of the FO change. The description takes the time as an order, takes the standard office which newly established as a center, while it has quoted the document, conference summary and the character's dialogue. The fifth part is analysis conclusion of the case.
