Component based development is the main method of developing information system in the future. However, the theory and method of component-based development is not mature in the present, and there is a certain distance from actual application. The primary problem is to make an abstract description of business process and determine granularity of business model in specific fields when component-based technique and method are used to solve the contradiction between the flexibility of enterprise requirements and the inherent rigidity of an application system. This paper has made a study of business component model supporting information system based on component, and the focuses are as follows.First, the main features and difference among structured method, object oriented method and component-based method are given. By using the analysis and designing results of object oriented method and uniting the basic principles of component-based development, a component-based method is presented, which is the tendency for the development of information system in the future. Then, architecture of component-based information system is studied, and the research of business component model as the core of component-based information system is clarified in terms of the principles of relative stability of component-based system.Second, by analyzing the definition of business component, that the design of business component model should be based on the view of business process is clarified. The general language of setting up models based on business process, UML, is introduced. By analyzing the features of business component model, a classification method based on level for business component model is presented.Third, by exposing the principles of domain analysis, a conclusion is drawn that the building of business component model should make use of domain analysis abstract the general character of business process to obtain a well nature of software reusing. Later, as an example, the domain business model of an organization system of production plan for a manufactured enterprise based on order is described by using the use_case graph and class graph of UML.Last, by exposing the principles of granularity analysis that the granularity classification of business component model can be able to convert into the domain classification is clarified. By studying the collection of sampling points using a method of cluster algorithm, a granularity classification method of business components is summarized. Based on the previous conclusions, a method of selecting key business entities and non-key business entities is presented, a matrix of relationship strength is set up by using the domain business model, and a granularity classification of business component model of an organization system of production plan for a manufactured enterprise based on order is realized.
