With market globalization coming into being, and the constant advancement of network and information technology, competition between enterprises become gradually intense, and promoting kernel competitive capability is key to these enterprises. As main methods for promoting kernel competitive capability, Supply Chain Management, Concurrent Engineering, Business Process Reengineering, Agile Manufacture, and Marketing Chain Management stand development of modern enterprise in good stead. The central thought of these management methods lie in process management or process reengineering, and have need of information technology support, such as workflow technology and workflow management system. As gradually dynamic, distribution, and isomerism property of organization, the traditional workflow technology and workflow management system are going off, thus it is important for studying workflow model and workflow management system can depict present status of organization, and adaptable to dynamic surrounding.Based on standards and norm of Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC), the extended workflow meta-model which supported enterprise-model are proposed, including function, organization, resource, process sub-model and so on. In order to improving dynamic and flexibility of model, the modeling method based on object-oriented and Petri nets are provided after the stages of workflow modeling. The main contents are as follows:After thoroughly reviewed literatures on workflow process management and itscurrent research state, the development trend of it is prospected. The related workflow standards and norms of workflow management system are included, and their connotations are also demonstrated in detail.The enterprise model are used for depicted global state of enterprise, workflow technology is key technology can carry the enterprise model into practice, and workflow model can convert enterprise model into a executable computer language and formalization model, Based on the integrated modeling method, the improved enterprise modeling framework is put forward, and its content is demonstrated, based on this framework, the enterprise concept model is proposed.Based on the traditional process-centric narrow sense workflow model, the extended workflow meta-model is proposed, chiefly including process, organization, and resources sub-model, and these sub-model are demonstrated respectively.The tools and methods for workflow modeling are studied, organization and resources view modeling based on object oriented, and workflow process modeling based on extensible object Petri nets are proposed. After modeling steps of workflow model are put forward, some instances have taken to demonstrated how to set up every sub model.The design and implementation of workflow management system are studied. Based on some enterprise's need, the analysis and design of whole system are demonstrated by means of analysis ideas of software engineering and design methods of object-oriented information system, completion process of system based ASP.NET, XML and some other information technologies is discussed, lastly, running results and function description have taken to authenticate feasibility of analysis and design of workflow management system.
