The Research On Motivation Of Knowledge Worker In Chinese Enterprises

With the development of the knowledge economy, the creation,transmission and application of the knowledge has been the key for the corporation gaining its comparative advantage, therefore the effective knowledge worker motivation has been the core point of cotemporary human resource management and corporation sustainable development. Knowledge workers are high-level mental worker who are engaged in intellectual and creative activities and they are highly independent in the work with high achievement motive and mobility. And this paper mainly analyzes the knowledge workers' characteristics and their key motivation factors, reviews the theory on motivation of knowledge worker,draws on the experience of successful management practice abroad,sums up the management problems of knowledge workers in domestic enterprises. On the base of above, the author puts forward applying all-around motivation into knowledge worker's management and motivation. The all-round motivation contains the following meanings: in the motivation content, the enterprises should combine material motivation with mental motivation; in the motivation time, the enterprises had better combine long-term motivation with short-time motivation; in the motivation tactics,the enterprises could applies all kinds of ways and instruments into knowledge worker s' motivation and get multilevel comprehensive motivation effect. Finally the author insists that through implementing effective management by objective(MBO), making excited work design, implementing all-around compensation tactics, building excellent culture, the enterprises could get good effect on knowledge workers' motivation.
