So far from the eighties of the 20th century, the development of financialliberalization and globalization has increased the fluctuations of the macro-economy andthe financial market of the world, increasing commercial bank instability in management,and the banking's risk presents a characteristic of diversification, complication,globalization. As an industry entailed high risk, how the commercial banks control theirpotential risks, not only related to their continuously development, but also related to a lotof other aspects, such as one country's financial economy and coordination of variousfields of society, etc. This thesis is under this background, on the basis of readinggenerously domestic and international documents about commercial bank risk management,combining the theory of commercial bank management, the finance and the managementscience, etc. The author tries to summarize the related theories of risk management of thecommercial bank, and also chooses the commercial banks of the United States, Germany,and Singapore, enumerating their main experiences in managing risks. Then the authortries to sum up the general experiences of the international active commercial banks in therisk management. Finally, the thesis puts forward how the commercial banks in ourcountry to draw lessons from the international experiences to accelerates the constructionof the Enterprise-Wide-Risk Management mode. In addition to preface and conclusion, thethesis is divided into four parts altogether: The first part, theory overview of risk management of commercial bank. In this part,the author has introduced the definition and categories of the risk of commercial bankbriefly, and the meaning, target and processes of the commercial bank risk management,the development of the risk management thought, finally stressing the latest developingdirection of banking's risk management - Enterprise Wide Risk Management. The second part, main experiences of the United States, Germany and Singapore inhandling the commercial bank risks. In this part, the author has chosen the commercialbanks of U.S.A., Germany and Singapore especially, and enumerated the main experiencein the risk management practice of the three countries separately. The experiences includethe design of the risk management frame, the application of the risk management methodsand technology and so on. They represent the development trend of the internationalbanking risk management. The third part, general experiences of international risk management of commercialbank. In this part, according to the experiences of risk management in the commercial bankof the United States, Germany and Singapore, the author summarizes the general experienceof the international commercial bank risk management, namely good risk managementculture, perfect risk management system, advanced and professional risk managementtechniques, high-quality risk management talent, etc. These are indispensable key elementsof risk management that make the large international bank succeed in banking operation. The fourth part, the enlightenment of international experiences to our commercial bankrisk management. In the part, the author analyses the present conditions of commercial bankof our country in banking risk management, on the basis of using international experiencefor reference, putting forward several relations needed to consider in banking's riskmanagement. Finally, the author gives some suggestions on how our commercial banks todevelop their own risk management, including six constructions in the risk management: theidea and culture construction, organization system construction, method and techniqueconstruction, risk of overall management mode construction, the data information-basedconstruction and team construction.
