Research On The Confucian Concept Of Benevolence And The Formation Of Our Civil Consciousness Of Charity

Charity is the virtue of the Chinese tradition, since ancient times the weak, the poor and needy helping each other in the fine tradition of charitable and philanthropic idea of long practice. It comes not only from the heart of human love, the manifestation of human nature, but also a sense of personal moral.At present, China is in the social transformation from traditional society to a modern type of civil society, the modern philanthropy in China is still at an early stage. According to the statistics, the country needs to help the poor segments of the population about 100 million, 200 million people suffer all kinds of disasters every year, if calculated aid 25% aid ratio, which means there are more than 50 million people need help. At the same time, in Shanghai, China conducted a survey on public awareness charity showed that 50% of respondents mistakenly believe that charity is only the Government's relief, although 90% of respondents participated in donation, but a considerable part is passive, the number of "often take the initiative to donate" is very small. Overall, in the sense of community charity of our citizens has not yet formed among the mainstream consciousness, there is a general lack of charity issues in consciousness of citizens. To this our government has been nurturing a citizen's charity awareness, the development of philanthropy to build a harmonious society as an important task, therefore, of the civil consciousness of charity become a very necessary and urgent task.Confucianism is valuable resource in Chinese history and culture, the Confucian concept of benevolence is an important part of a traditional ethics, and traditional concepts have an important role in shaping on the formation of human moral values, caring citizens in our country as a charity is more likely practical to improve awareness of the theoretical resources with the help of traditional power. My research combines with tradition and reality, theory and practice.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is where the problem comes, research the background of the introduction, summary of the literature and discussion of related concepts.The second part is the transition of Chinese society and citizens'charity awareness. China is in the special period of social transition, "small government, big society" gradually forming and civil society's role increasing among social affairs. It is utmost important to promote social harmony and progress the citizen awareness for the development of modern charity. This section is also the overview and status of citizen's charity, and with deeply analysis of its formation.The third part is the Confucian concept of benevolence and the formation of our citizens'charity awareness. As the Confucian concept of benevolence is the essential part of Chinese tradition charity, so it has the unique role in it. This part has described the details of the Confucian concept of benevolence and given the exploratory recommendation in its formation.The fourth part is the conclusion. Summarizes the results and inadequacy of this research.
