Regulations On Drinking Water Source Protection In Zhejiang Province

Water is essential to life on our planet. Our very existence as well as sustainable development is totally dependent upon this precious resource. With the continuous economy growth, the issues of water pollution and water shortage become more serious than ever before, that people's healthy is threatening by which. Zhejiang had plenty of water, with many rivers and lakes before, named'Heaven of the world'. At present, water resource pollution is becoming worse and worse. Both surface water and groundwater are contaminated in some degree, that the embarrassed situation'Water areas are lack of water'happed to Zhejiang, the drinking water is also at risk.With the methods of social inquiry, comparative analysis, literature collection and etc, this dissertation focuses on the present situation of drinking water source in Zhejiang, investigated some typical areas to know the situation and find out the problems, sums up the legislation on the drinking water source and analyzes the blank space of legislation and the limitation of legal system. Finally suggests Zhejiang to legislate on the drinking water source protection to secure the drinking water safety and ecosystem safety, priority principle, precautionary principle, sustainable utilization principle should be followed, the regulations of drinking water source quality standard, the protection areas, the eco-compensation system, the groundwater protection, the rural drinking water source protection, the opening of drinking water source information should be included.
