From 1957 to 1978, Because of the social and political reasons, there wasn't any lawyer in practical meaning. Therefore, Legal service industry didn't exist during that period. This situation lasted for 20 years until the Chinese government restart the National Judicial Examination in 1979. But there were only a few thousand practice lawyers all over china. With the great success of the reforming and opening-up policy and also the achievement of economic development, there was a impressive improvement of china's attorney industry in the past thirty years. Till year 2008, there were a hundred and fifty six thousand seventy one hundred practiced lawyers, fourteen thousand and four hundred sixty seven law firms all over mainland china. The annual income was about twenty billion RMB.When we are enjoying the great achievement of the legal service industry, we also have to be conscious that we still have a visible difference with the firms in developed countries. Base on the objective statistics, the annual income of the top 5 law firms in the world was more than one billion each firm, the average number of practice lawyers of the top 50 firms was more than eight hundred. But in china, the present number was twelve only. The total annual income of Chinese law firms was about the same as the top 3 international law firms. After considering the situation of different firms, the international firms are global, professional and also operating as companies. On the other hand, domestic firms are much less developing. China's firms performance is limited by the following reasons:Firstly, there was only thirty years history of china's legal service industry, lack of experience is the problem that we couldn't avoid. Secondly, they are also being restricted by the domestic legal system development. Thirdly, foreign firms are not allow to set up branches or join venture firms with china's firm in china, or even provide legal service, which leads to lack of chance for mutual study and exchanging opinions.D&S law firm is one of the biggest integrated firm in Guangzhou, which has recognized reputation. Its scale, brand, annual income is not comparable than the other small firms. But we also need to realize that D&S law firm has the similar issues as the other china's firms which slow down the development of D&S law firm. Therefore it is time to seek for self-evolution.Firstly, this essay based on the circumstances of D&S law firm, including the present status of domestic legal service industry, market requirement, the status of Guangzhou market, D&S law firm's internal resources and advantages. Secondly, it used the SWOT method to analysis the external chances, threat and internal cons and pros. Thirdly, it used the five strength models to find out the most suitable formation and strategy for D&S law firm.At the end, it combined other relevant factors to express the implement scheme,in order to provide theoretical support for practices.
