The Development And Application Of Citizens' Security Questionnaire

Security is the most important factor of mental health and is the individual subjective experience to respond or control the physical and social life. Therefore, developing a security questionnaire for Chinese citizens and learning the present situation and related factors of citizens'security have great theoretical and practical significance, which not only for the individual as well as the public's mental health but also for the construction of the socialist harmonious society. This research carried on actually measuring to 1123 citizens from 8 cities all over the country in the way of cluster random sampling. Analytical results showed as follows:1,citizens'security questionnaire self-designed is composed of 22 topics, which has good reliability and validity. The questionnaire satisfies criteria of mental surveying, and thus it can be used as the tool to survey and assess citizens'security.2,Through the analysis of factors of citizens'security gets six factors: social stability, family security, public security, community security and occupational security and health security.3,At present, security of citizen is at middle level, six dimensions of security scores from high to low are as follows: family security, occupational security, health security, community security , social stability and public security.4,citizens'security has significant differences in gender, age, marital status, education, profession, housing, income and region, especially men is higher significantly than women. Under 24-years-old is highest, over 55-years-old is lowest. Unmarried and married city residents are significantly higher than widowed or divorced urban residents. Differences between unmarried and married aren't significant. Security of the person that has graduate or above is the highest, and the lowest in elementary school or below. Person that has a stable job is significantly higher than that has an unstable job; the binger in the per-capita area in housing, the higher in security. Income presents the "V trend in security, just low-income and high-income is significantly higher than medium income; the Midwest is significantly higher than the east area.
