On The Security Dilemma In The Northeast Asia From The Nuclear Test Explosion Of North Korea

Security dilemma is a dangerous situation that under the anarchy of the international community sovereignty states, for security purposes and strategic adjustments, extend their power by adding a new type of military force or alliancing with each other, which eventually lead to lack of mutual trust, deepening suspicion and a general lack of security between all the sovereignties in the area of international relations.The security dilemma causing from state security and interests has existed between the Northeast Asian sovereignties for a long time. It has seen so many North Korean nuclear crises after the Cold War, and is more vividly before and after the North Korean nuclear test explosions.Its essence is a kind of realistic political dilemma because of interdependence of power and mutual strategic adjustment between the northeast Asian states, and it is also a dilemma of security awareness for lacking mutual trust.This paper attempts to analyze microscopically the reason and the formation mechanism of security dilemma, the great nation strategy around the two nuclear tests of North Korean and its effect on strategic adjustment between the northeast Asian states. It also analyzes macroscopically the characteristics and causes of the current security dilemma in Northeast Asia. Its ultimate goal is to find ways to break the security dilemma in Northeast Asia, and it expects to propose some strategic conception for the Northeast Asian countries, particularly for China, when they are faced with North Korean nuclear test and developing their strategy.
