The Strategy About Using The WTO's DSM

The Dispute Settlement Mechanism (DSM) of the World Trade Organization (WTO) is regarded as the most peculiar contrubution of the WTO.Because of it's outstanding achivements,this mechanism has received high praise since its born.But with the development of business experience, this mechanism has exposed some of the problems and shortcomings.In order to better safeguard the health development of the WTO and further international trade,it is highly necessary to reform and ameliorate this mechanism.As the second biggest economic body and the second largest trade nation in the world,China has wide economic interests and connections with other countries.As a member of WTO,when we are facing more and more economic disputes with other partners, it is wise and important to utilize the WTO dispute settlement mechanism,which is a rules-oriented system,to resolve the economic disputes.This paper introduced the basic knowledge of the WTO first,and then take the "China-US IPR case "as an example,mainly analysed the DSM's signigicant importance.its well recognized achievements and the shortcomings.and discussed its effects upon our country.In the end,the paper clncluded some of the strategy from our country's perspective to further our country's well development and maintain our economic interests.
