Environment is the basis for human survival and development, and it is very important to human's survival. In the old time, countries ignored the environmental degradation in order to improve the material life and the trade income. And we have paid a painful natural price. When the increasingly serious situation of global warming, when the total amount of carbon emissions is difficult to control even more out of control, and when the climate and environment, environmental issues finally entered the human field of vision, more and more people began to focus on the relationship between trade and environment. In fact, the trade and environment is not a new topic, but as the era of global economic integration between the two new problems are emerging. The developed countries make strict laws to protect their environment. Meanwhile, developed countries imposed its environmental standards on imports, and this led to so many disputes between developed countries and developing countries. Environmental policies began to have great influences on multi-trade. Above this, I will discuss the legal connection between environmental policies and multi-trade in this article.This article includes introduction, body and conclusion. Firstly, I will describe the development of environmental policies. Secondly, I will probe into the legal connection between environmental policies and multilateral trade system. Finally, from the Chinese point of view, our country should put forward measures to against the Green Barriers and have our own environment policies. Introduction: This section briefly describes environmental policies and the actual situation of the multilateral trading system. The subject of the article will be found in this section.Part I: The Historical Evolution of Environmental Policies. This section introduces the development and classification of environmental policies, especially explain the Green Barriers.Part II: The Legal Relationship between Environmental Policies and multilateral trading system. This section analyses the legal basis of the existence of environmental policies. And then, I will discuss the environment policies of WTO. Firstly, I review the development of environmental legislation in WTO. Then this section will elaborate the WTO's attitude towards environmental policies combined with the classic case of environmental trade disputes. Thirdly, the section discusses the legal relationship between WTO and MEAs and makes some legal advices.Part III: China's Environmental policies. Through the examples of Green Barriers summary, this section sums up our country's losses caused by environmental policies. In response to these facts, China should make strict laws to overcome and defeat the green barriers in the multilateral trading system.Epilogue: this section is the summary of the article and hope the green economy will bring a better future to our human beings.
