The Research On Ideological-and-Political-Education Function Of Red Film

Red films refer to such film works which are advocated and supported by government, represent its mainstream ideology and reflect that people of different nations under the leadership of Chinese Communist Party make strenuous efforts to fight for Chinese revolution and the construction of socialist modernization. These red films, with special class stand, powerful influence, mighty appeal and extensive mass basis, embody a Red Spirit which purifies people's soul, upgrades people's mental state, and arouses people's fighting will for their ideals. In the light of the ideological and political education of Marxism, this essay does a systematical investigation into the ideological and political education of Red film by applying some theories related to Ideological and Political education, Communication and filmology.This article consists of three parts:Part one deals with the discussion of the concept, development and style of Red film and the concept, status and function of Ideological and Political education, and analyzes the correlation between Red film and Ideological and Political education.Part two is mainly concerned with the ideological-and-political-education function of Red Film which mainly contains: advocating the lines, principles and policies of Chinese Communist Party and promoting the formation of social common ideals, widening the space of ideological and political education and lengthening its time, enriching the content of ideological and political education, creating methods of ideological and political education, and optimizing the environment of ideological environment and strengthening the effect of ideological and political education.The third part focuses on the challenge that the ideological-and-political-education function of Red Film is faced with and its strategies. The main challenges are as follows: the challenge of western superior media, especially Hollywood films, under the context of Globalization, the challenge under the development of market economy and the change of social structure, the challenges from itself (includes three aspects: artistic methods, artistic talents and artistic system) and the challenge of the rapid development of Internet. Based on these, some coping strategies are put forward as follows: sticking to the principle of socialism orientation, innovating itself to adapt to the situation, reducing administrative intervention and establishing the market operating mechanism, making efforts to train the creators of Red Film and improving the quality of personnel engaged, enhancing its intercoordination with other ideological and political education of mass communication.
