Study On Modern Nation-State Rebuilding In Central Asia Area

Modern nation states are the main international subjects of behavior. The modern nation state-building is an inevitably historical trend. The five states in Central Asia are now encountering a number of predicaments, such as their relatively backward social situation, special experiences and identity backgrounds before independence, tremendous difficulties and challenges after independence. All these factors decide their own inevitabilities and particularities in modern nation state-building. By using the state-building theory to analyze the nearly twenty years' developing process after their independences, we can get a clear thought line and theoretical framework.The first chapter is to define the modern nation states and the modern nation state-building and to make the theory of modern national state-building clear. According to the identity backgrounds before independence and the present situation after independence chapter two elaborates the peculiarity and the main tasks of modern nation state-building of Central Asia area. Chapter three, four and five respectively analyze its building of political institutions and civil society and its situation of transformation of market economy. Chapter six discusses the main achievements and defects and the future trend of its modern nation state-building-and makes a rational analysis from the international perspective.
