The ethnic relationships among the scattered communities and the ethnic relationship between the Mongolians and the Hans in the area where the minority nationality autonomous regions and the other provinces meet, are important parts of the ethnic relationship in the socialist China. As the socialist market-oriented economy is developing, it is more and more important for the current situation to study the ethnic relationship between the minority nationalities and the Han nationality in the scattered communities. In Inner Mongolia, the ethnic relationship between the Mongolians and the Hans is the important part in the whole field of national ethnic relationship, which has both the common characters of the ethnic relationship and the personality of its own.The study is based on the socio-cultural anthropology and the culture contact theories, and is combined with some theories about ethnic sociology. Anthropology and sociology are adopted to investigate and study the thesis. The writer takes Saiqin and Maogaitu village, Baxiantong town, Naiman qi, Tongliao, Inner Mongolia for example, and traces back to their history, and study deeply the ethnic relationship between the Mongolians and the Hans in these areas since reform and opening-up policy. The study draws on the experience of the similar researches by means of anthropology field work, describes the ethnic relationship situation mainly based on the relationship between the Mongolians and the Hans, analyses and concludes the main factors of influencing the ethnic relationship since reform and opening-up policy, and forecasts and assumes the developing trend of the ethnic relationship between the Mongolians and the Hans as well as the construction problem of the ethnic relationship.This thesis mainly consists of seven parts, including instruction, four chapters of main parts, conclusion and bibliography. Instruction is composed of research description, the significance of topic choosing, relevant theories, choosing of research places and research methods. Chapter One introduces the basic situation of investigation places and investigation objects. Chapter Two specifically analyses the ethnic relationship between the Mongolians and the Hans in Saiqin and Maogaitu village, Baxiantong town, Naiman qi, Tongliao, from the point of view of intermarry between nationalities, the formation of vocation, language and living structure, based on the changing of the ethnic relationship between the Mongolians and the Hans. Chapter Three discusses the main factors of influencing the ethnic relationship and its changing. And it theoretically analyses the ethnic relationship between the Mongolians and the Hans in Saiqin and Maogaitu village, Baxiantong town, Naiman qi, Tongliao, from the perspective of culture adaption, government policy and the coexistence of multi-culture. Chapter Four analyses the developing trend of the Mongolians and the Hans of Naiman qi in Tongliao and tentatively conceives the construction of the ethnic relationship. Part Conclusion concludes the research totally and points out that there is good ethnic relationship and permanent situation between the Mongolians and the Hans as well as among different nationalities, as the living standard of each nationality is developing constantly.
