Research On Domestic Violence In Rural Areas

Domestic violence, especially domestic violence against women has become a hot issue nowadays. Since "World Conference on Women" has been held in 1995, China's increasingly serious domestic violence has begun to attract the attention of the whole society. Scholars have analyzed the characteristics, hazards and the causes of domestic violence from the perspective of many disciplines, and put forward some corresponding countermeasures. But at present, domestic scholars put the main focus on urban domestic violence research, by contrast, less attention to rural areas. Our Government is actively promoting socialist harmonious society and puts forward the strategic goal to build a new socialist countryside, which offers opportunities for the prevention of domestic violence in rural areas. Based on such background, facing to the increasingly prominent issue of domestic violence in rural areas, we need a deep study about it as a separate. Rural domestic violence seriously undermining women's basic human rights in rural areas, endangering the stability of rural society, preventing normal production and life of rural society, which is not conductive to rural economic development. Meanwhile it is also opposite to the requirements of building a socialist harmonious society and building a socialist new countryside in China. Therefore, the study and discussions about domestic violence in rural areas, curbing violent crime in order to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of rural women can't be delayed. In the advanced continuously process of building a new socialist countryside, I can learn about the basic situation and characteristics of domestic violence in rural areas through investigation, and analyze the causes and hazards of domestic violence in rural areas as well, and put forward some my own humble opinions about the prevention and suppression of domestic violence in rural areas. Undoubtedly this will have important practical significance to help resolve the contradictions of rural households and build a new socialist harmonious countryside. Meanwhile, it can make up for the lack of theoretical studies.In this paper, I take A Village of Linyi City in Shandong Province for example, A Village on the status of domestic violence survey to collect first-hand information, statistical analysis and collate of these data. The text combines survey data to describe the status of domestic violence of A Village, and analyzes the causes of domestic violence of A Village. Meanwhile, the text explain the hazards of domestic violence in rural areas as well. For the cause of domestic violence in rural areas and hazards, I propose some measures and suggestions to solve rural domestic violence.
