Comparison Research On Measures Of Upper Extremity Disability Assessment

Clinical forensic medical body damage assessment and disability assessment are the most two common tasks in clinical forensic practicing work. Chinese"Assessment for body impairment of the injured in road traffic accident"(GB18667-2002)et.al identification standards which are often used all contain terms have relation with body function assessment ,it is visible that physical body function assessment is the more important feature in clinical forensic identification work.There are many reasons for body dysfunctional,such as bone,joint injury,muscle,tendon injury,and joint injury is the most common one in practise. In this paper, take the three upper extremity joint injury cases as the research object,compare our method with United States's method of upper extremity dysfunction assessment ,analyze the differences, and point out the misunderstanding in current forensic upper extremity dysfunction assessment,so we can assess upper extremity dysfunction with more scientific and objective attitude,and to provide a more scientific basis for clinical forensic work. The first chapter introduces upper extremity function assessment methods which are often used in international field and upper extremity function assessment which used in our forensic science work,and point out the problems relies in our assessment method of upper extremity function.The second chapter begin with retrospective cases,and we focuse on analyzing whether there is difference between our"Analysis On Injured In Road Traffic Accidents"and"Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment(GEPI)"assessment method.The result appears that there is difference and the reason is"Assessment for body impairment of the injured in road traffic accident"only pays attention to the loss of activity,and ignores the specific joint funtion position in the activities, in particular, the functional position.GEPI not only considers the range of motion has impact on upper extremity function, but also points out each direction of joint plays different role in the whole joint function.The third chapter begins with the cases collected recently,and then compare rehabilitation assessment method with"Assessment for body impairment of the injured in road traffic accident"method , compare rehabilitation assessment method with GEPI method.Based on the previous section between the two methods,doing a conclution of the method which is closer to relatively mature rehabilitation method.It appears that GEPI assessment result is closer to rehabilitation method.The forth chapter is the ideal building of our nation's upper extremity function assessment method.Here, we combine the results of we discussed above,point out the objective and scientific upper extremity assessment method applied to our nation's current situation.Finally,introduce a software matched to the method designed by myself"Upper Extremity Disability Assessment".
