With a large scale of labor forces moving into urban areas, the problem of women left in rural areas have gradually aroused people's attention. The paper attempts to make a relatively completely and deeply study on the social adaptation of women left in rural areas by describing and analyzing factors that influence their productive labor, ways of daily life and social communication. In the study, we found that women left in rural areas are faced with greater difficulties and pressure in agricultural productive labor when their husband go out , they adjusted the manner of agricultural productive labor to relieve and remove the difficulties, but they were not completely used to the new productive labor manner, so that they have a gradually increasing positive emotions to the new productive labor manner; that husband shift made rural remaining wives have more space and chance to deiced family matters in daily life, but the majority of rural remaining wives were not use to deciding family thing, heavy housework and agricultural productive almost limit their space and chance of development; that rural remaining wives's social activity range was not expanded and their weak position in public life was not changed while their husbands have gone out for jobs in city areas. Therefore, social adaptation of women left in rural areas is mechanical, passive and instinctive. They are not positively, actively and healthily adaptive to society when their husbands go out. Social system, social culture and their individual aspects are the factors that influence their social adaptation. Internalized social gender culture view that men make houses, women make homes is especially obvious in peasant's idea. How to discuss the problems about social adaptation of rural remaining wives from social justice and harmony, equality of two sex and multicultural development, is necessary and urgent to make rural remaining wives positively, actively and healthily adapt to society.
