With the manufacture technology rapidly developing, the information technology being applied widely and the world economics tending to the integration, the competition environment for the enterprises becomes severer more and more. In the traditional manufacturing enterprises, the potential for increasing the product competition power is diminishing only by improving the manufacturing technology itself. People have been cognizant of the fact that the effective purchasing management, which is regarded as one significant means to reduce the production cost and enhance the competition power, would make great contribution for the enterprise's outstanding achievement. In order to raise the marketing competition advantage and keep continuous development for an enterprise, we should use the process management in the whole purchasing phase to analyze and improve the product's cost structure, making the purchasing management become the important factor for controlling cost and adding value in the enterprise's value chain. In order to discuss the effective purchasing management in the traditional manufacturing enterprises, this dissertation takes L Processing Glass Company Limited as an example to make a systemic research. The detailed information is as follows: First, analyzing the whole competition structure within the processing glass industry and the competition environment for L Processing Glass Company Limited with the methods of Five Power Model and SWOT, this dissertation bring forward the viewpoint in improving the purchasing management and enhancing the enterprise's competition power. Secondly, aiming at the supply chain structure of L Processing Glass Company Limited, this dissertation focuses on discussing several aspects such as the purchasing forecast, the lead time management and the information management within the purchasing phase in the internal and the external supply chain respectively. Finally, this dissertation presents some proposal of the purchasing management in the supply chain model for L Processing Glass Company Limited. It introduces ABC management method for the inventory management and suggests improving the demand forecast veracity with information method. For the purchasing lead time, shortening the lead time could be achieved by strengthening the supplier management and sharing the information. Moreover, it propounds optimizing the information flow by the process reengineering in the enterprise.
