On The Causes And Preventive Countermeasures To Minor Delinquency In Social Transformation

Nowadays, China has just experienced the most serious period of minor delinquency. The crime rate of the minor delinquency remains the serious state and becomes one of the important social problems to damage the social stability and unity of our country as well as the prosperity of socialism career.The Social Control Theory by the American sociologist and criminologist Travis Hirschi is regarded as an important category to interpret the causes of the minor delinquency, which is one of the most influential theories on minor delinquency. From the perspective of that "Why do people not commit crime?" this theory examines the phenomenon of minor delinquency and provides unique implications for preventive countermeasures against minor delinquency. This idea has been mentioned in Chinese scholars' researches on minor delinquency, but at present, the systematic researches on China minor delinquency in social transformation from the perspective of the social control theory are rare. By means of analysis and research from the perspective of Social Control Theory, this thesis aims to broaden our theoretical horizon, strengthen the understanding of the minor delinquency so as to enrich the research of minor delinquency in social transformation.Combined the Social Control Theory and the reality of China minor delinquency in social transformation, this thesis "nativizes" the social control theory and makes an analysis of the causes of China minor delinquency in social transformation, and concludes that, the unfavorable family environment, the inappropriate school education and the worsening social atmosphere contribute to loosening or breaking down the minors' social bond, and in the end, committing the crime of minor delinquency.
