The Research Of The Question About Unemployment And Its Countermeasure In Chongqing

Employment is considered to be vital to the people's livelihood, so the government gives first priority to the issue of the increasingly serious unemployment which has negatively affected economic and social development in all the nations and cities. This issue has aroused general concern. In Chongqing, a new municipality with the old industrial base, the unemployment of urban is as conspicuous as the economic and social development. During the period when the old social security system is losing its effectiveness and the new one is being perfected, the negative influence of the urban unemployment on the regional economy and social stability is becoming more and more obvious. Starting with a deep understanding of the current situation and characteristics of the unemployment in Chongqing and an analysis of the key factors affecting the employment of the local labor force, this paper aims to find out the main causes of the unemployment and present a series of effective measures to deal with this issue in Chongqing.This paper is divided into two parts: the first part is concerned with what the unemployment in Chongqing means and its causes. Firstly, it is put forward that the settlement of the urban unemployment in Chongqing is predicated on the high (economic) cost because the unemployment has caused a potential huge loss through expounding the positive and negative effect of the unemployment and then the source of the unemployment pressure in Chongqing is to be analyzed. Then, the paper studies the history and present situation with regard to the unemployment in Chongqing and points out the objective inevitability underlying the unemployment. Based on the preceding discussion, the meaning of unemployment in terms of economics is brought forward.
