Job satisfaction is one of most frequently studied work attitudes. Job satisfaction, the extent to which employees like their work, has long been an important concept in the organizational study of the responses employees have to their jobs. The turnover, performance, customer satisfaction, life satisfaction and psychological health etc. are influenced by job satisfaction. Over past time, there has been a growing body of study on job satisfaction, people pay more and more attention on it. Many factor are related with job satisfaction which including both job and personality of works. Research indicated core self-evaluation which composed of self-esteem, generalized self-efficacy, locus of control and emotional stability affect the level of job satisfaction under the background of western country. To find out what are the relationships between job satisfaction and core self-evaluation in china, this study adopt the grass roots cadres of Chinese government and the develop the job satisfaction questionnaire with good reliability and validity for the grass roots cadres.The result of the study indicated:1 .The questionnaire of job satisfaction for the grass root cadres composed of eight facet (factor) as: fairness, social recognition, job pressure, job atmosphere, job challenging, salary, relationship with colleague, management level of department.2. There are strong relationship between job satisfaction and core self-evaluation.3. Core self-evaluation can predict the job satisfaction and generalized self-efficacy is the most effective predicting factor of job satisfaction.4. In the sample area of Wuxi city, Jiangsu province, the demographic factor doesn't affect the whole job satisfaction level of cadres. While on the fairness factor, the job satisfaction level of male is better than the female's, the cadres work less than 10 years is higher than the cadres word more than 20 years. On the job pressure factor, the cadresword more than 20 years feel better than the ones work between 10 and 20 years and the cadres with high educational background feel higher pressure than the with lower educational background ones. On the salary factor, the satisfaction of ordinary cadres are much lower than the chief section.In the last, the paper conclude with a discussion of the contributions and limitations of this study, and advise the opportunities for future research.
