Food industry is one of the industries of key industry of Jilin province. The Changbai Mountain Area's food industry is an important component that can't be ignored in the food industrial development of our province. Especially face revitalizing the good opportunity of the old industry base of the Northeast. Developing the food industry of Changbai Mountain Area has important strategic meanings. Changbai Mountain Area is regarded as the ecological resource type area, the natural resource has some common qualities: pollution-free, the style is unique,with some functional components in many species, which is the superiority to develop new food products and material base to develop ecological resource economy. Through the analysis to whole food industry in Changbai Mountain Area, we can include several characters: 1. Grows slowly though it makes gross growth, its growth speed lower the average level of the province. 2. From the main trade's development we can see that three trades have the same trend but different states. The food processing has a great gross output base, which fluctuated obviously in the past 10 years; the food manufacture makes a steady development, the gross output ascends wavily. The beverage manufacture develops quickly, takes step ascend. 3. The Changbai Mountain Area food industry's scale is smaller and fluctuation is more obvious compare with the whole province's. Its speed of development is slower. From the contribution of main trades, the food processing's level nearly the average; the food manufacture's level is lower; beverage manufacture's level twice average. The difference is great. The higher of the contribution's level, the more important in food industry of the province. 4. The different administration area in Changbai Mountain Area has different development level in food industry, what's more, the difference is great. Tonghua region's level is higher than Baishan's and Yanbian's. Consequently, we conclude that the Changbai Mountain Area's food industry's level is unbalance, neither inside of its industry nor different area. Food industry must allocate resource properly in order to make a forth, so it is necessary to choose which is priority.
