Along with the change of the market competition, the limitation of the traditional competition which is aimed at putting their opponents to death, is becoming more and more obvious. As a new competition strategy, the idea of co-opetiton is being attached more importance by both enterprise and academic field. Through the quasi-market organization for co-opetition, the co-opetition strategy can realize the scale economy, reduce the transaction cost, strength the enterprise' core competition by resource complement and organizational learning.Since indirect finance takes the principle part in our country, the banking industry has a significant importance in our financial system. But now our banking industry have some weaknesses in market structure, organizational structure and operational system, and some problems, such as the low capital adequacy, bad assets and the ability of making profit, restrict the banking's competitiveness. In the face of the gradual internationalization and integration of the financial market, the great competitiveness of the foreign banks, and also the limitation of the development course which is entirely depended on internal resource, China's commercial banks are becoming to realize the importance of the co-opetition, and are carrying out the variety of the cooperation in practise. Then the theoretic research is needed do direct the practice , and which is just this paper's writing target.Based on the complete analysis of the essence of the co-opetition theory, the favorable effect of the co-opetition , and combined with the current situation of our commercial banks , this paper prove the favourable effect of the co-opetition as to advance the competitiveness of our banking industry. Considering the high failure rate for banks carrying out the co-opetition , and together through the analysis of the key factors which determine the success of the co-opetition strategy, the article emphasize on the four issues : selecting the suitable co-opetition partners , carrying out the efficient approaches , managing the organization properly , and allocating the benefit reasonably.
