With the development of the society and the progress in science, the Internet has already been one part of our life and the necessary means of communication, entertainment and shopping. While bringing some convenience for our life, the Internet, too, causes some trouble. One of them is to infringe upon the right of privacy . As a kind of basic human right, the right of privacy has existed and developed in the west for more than 100 years. And there exists a variety of laws protecting the right of privacy especially in the time of the Internet .At present, because of the popularity of the Internet, people find that the right of privacy is easy to be infringed. Thus , privacy becomes more considerable. In fact, in the West .privacy has already been one of the values .There is no doubt to protect it legally. In China, however, the right of privacy has not been taken seriously because of the influence of traditional law culture and values. But with the people' s living standards increased people begin to value it. Generally speaking, in China, the academic study in the right of privacy started in 1980s , and till now there is no legislation on it. But , this situation could be changed . In this article , by comparing the right of privacy in China with that in other countries , a path to protect the right of privacy legally in China can be found .
