Study On The Strengthening Of People's Supervision

The people's supervision means that the mass and political groups exercise supervision over the governments and the civil servants in accordance with law. The people's supervision is one of the important parts of the socialism supervision system. It is also the basic form for people to participate in political affairs and to fulfill the democratic rights.First, this paper gives the specific conception and analyzes the current situation of the people's supervision. Based on the characteristics of the people's supervision, it points out it is necessary to strengthen the people's supervision in order to realize socialism democratic politics. And also it is the effective way to prevent the corruption. Second, this paper discusses three theoretical backgrounds of the people's supervision: "the theory of people's sovereignty", "the theory of power corruption", "the theory of democratic supervision". Third, after retrospect of the history and the current situation of the development of the people's supervision over 50 years since the foundation of the PRC, it points out at present the effective measures should be taken to turn such supervision into system, norm and program by strengthening and enhancing the people's supervision.
