As a main body of Chinese national economy, traditional industries have been playing an important role in recent years, and with the passage of time, these industries will develop as the core of our economy in years to come. To accelerate the upgrade of our country's high-new technology level, and realize the shift of our country's growth mode from extensive to intensive, traditional industries'reformation have formed the foundation stone of our national economy's blast-off. These viewpoints have been widely accepted. This is the main reason why our central government has adopted measures to develop North East industrial base vigorously. Holding this move as our country's basic policy reflects the importancy and urgency of traditional industries'high-new technicalization. Nowadays many cities have taken countermeasures, started experiments and gained accomplishments to some extent. But general method and principle have not become full-fledged, there is still a long way to go. So it is very important to research in both practical and theoretical aspects. Traditional industries'role and evolvement law in the industrial development process have been analyzed in this thesis, the viewpoint that technology is the precursor and bolster is educed. The connotation, features, approaches, and general law, especially the form, the mode, and the influencing factors have been probed into, and then, a conclusion that rejuvenating traditional industry is a long and dynamic process has been drawn. On the basis of in-depth analysis on the restrict factors, with a view to different stages of enterprises and the different features of industries, some corresponding suggestions have been put forward. In the end of the thesis, Tangshan, a heavy industrial city is studied as an example to prove the theory of rejuvenating traditional industry.
