Philosophical Reflection On The Fate Of Modernity In China

Modernity is becoming global focus nowadays. One hand, all the post-modern countries are embracing modernity as their power for prosperity. On the other hand, western countries criticized modernity seriously in the 20^th century and made declaration of the death of modernity. Since China is on her way to modernization, it is inevitable to reconsider the status of modernity thereof. The focus lie in three issues: firstly, whether modernity is needed in China;Secondly, how to design Chinese modernity;thirdly, how to jump out of the so-called modernity trap.This article starts from the basic theory of modernity and made comprehensive analysis in Chinese wording. The author thinks that modernity is not terminated yet in China and the modernity is still a course to be continued in China. We are expecting a new development of modernity in china. The Scientific Development Value is definitely the declaration of new modernity in China. Therefore, it is our historical duty to carry out the Scientific Development Value and make thorough research on modernity for Socialism material, political and spiritual civilization.
