Modernity Criticism And Modernization Of China

Modernity is undoubtedly one of the topics focused in our time. Marx combined traditional metaphysics criticism with analysis towards inherent quality of capital, to take on modernity criticism. It provides theoretical source for us to explore modernity. Among contemporary western ideological trends, both western Marxism and post-modernism have a deep analysis towards modernity. Both of these are very useful theoretical sources for the exploration of Chinese modernity, which we should carry out perseveringly.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part reviews the basic problems of modernity and designates its essence. The second part illustrates the deep, unique analysis of western Marx, and points out the radical method adopted by post–modernism towards modernity, so as to further indicates the rationality of modernity criticism by Marx. The fourth part concludes that we should make efforts to find out a rational layout for Chinese modernity and pursue the harmonious development between human beings and the society.
