Deliberative democracy is the theory in the late 20th century as a kind of democratic theory. It finds the root causes of survival in the society that is multicultural and of pluralistic values. It provides groups and individuals another kind of coexistence ideas with others, namely respect and reconciliation. Deliberative Democracy stresses converting of the value preference, but electoral democracy stresses Polymerization of the value preference. Because of this, deliberative democracy has unique value and advantages. Understanding deliberative democracy can help us understand the connotation of the harmonious society better. On the basis of Analysis of the deliberative democracy theory, the author using social and ecological analysis method focus on social and ecological environment on practice of deliberative democracy in contemporary china in the thesis. Despite the many difficulties, contemporary china has basically haven the social, political, economic, cultural and technical infrastructure on practice of deliberative democracy.The first part describes the purpose of the paper and then talks about the existed research on this subject. Finally, it analyzes the means of the study.The second part analyzes the life system of deliberative democracy, including functions, concepts and features.The third part analyzes environmental system of deliberative democracy. It describes the social, political, economic, cultural and technical infrastructure on practice of deliberative democracy in contemporary china. It comes to the conclusion that contemporary China's social condition has provided deliberative democracy favorable conditions and enough space.The fourth part concerns the ways on practice of deliberative democracy.
