It is quite rich in the content of protective law of prairie ecology of the Mongol nationality in ancient times. From the customary law in remote antiquity to the written law after the Mongolia dynasty, laws were consisted of or reflected the content of protecting. It concluding herding in turns of prairie, prohibiting setting fire on the grassland and polluting the water resources, giving protection on forest resources and wild animals, and seasoning hunting was also banned by laws. This paper begins with the specific form, developing and succeeding of the law and regulations of the Mongol nationality in antiquity to interpret how the conception of ecology law came into being and explain the the modern evaluation of it. By formatting the law and regulations, the Mongol nationality protected the prairie efficiently, reached the harmony between human beings and nature. They accumulated great experience and valuable treasure for human beings to protect the environment.
