In the tradition of democracy thoughts, participation lays in the center of them. However, representative democracy is almost the only model which most western countries put to practice. What is more, they care much more about the inner danger of democracy which most people take part in. Until the crisis of representative democracy appears, they begin to find representative democracy is not everything which has its own drawbacks and shortages. Then some western scholars try to seek the alternatives for representative democracy, Participatory Democracy is one of them. How does it work? Here is the Marxism approach to it. With this kind of powerful tool of Weltanschauung and methodology, this paper mainly recognized the rationality and great significance of Participatory Democracy while pointing out its limitations.
