Participatory Democracy With Chinese Characteristics

The party and the government continue to put the democratic political system structure in the key part of China. This kind of work contains a complicated system that many engineering departments are involved in. Since the reform and opening of China, China’s democratic construction exploration has achieved remarkable success. The reform of the democratic political system reality focuses more on the microcosmic democratic construction side rather than the macroscopic democracy, concentrating more on the top-level design construction. Thus, the future democratic system construction should be cut from the micro gradual reform path to macroscopic path, taking a small amount of risk and low cost.This background study is very helpful to the theory of participatory democracy. Participatory democracy, also called direct democracy, is a new trend of the development of contemporary western democracy that emphasizes the introduction of more citizen participation elements in the existing macroscopic representative democratic basis. In addition, it expands the role of direct democracy in political life through civic awareness of democracy and democratic politics to improve the ability to actively participate; it is a progressive participatory democracy development road. The leading ideological thought of participatory democracy is "all lives are influenced by a certain decision and we should take part in the decision-making process". Participatory democracy theory is a kind of participation to the interpretation of democratic theory, advocated by the democracy construction that extends to the non political field. It is committed to the essentials of participation in activities to promote people’s participation in capacity and in strong participation consciousness so it can improve the democratic system construction in the whole country. This topic relates to Marx’s dialectics materialism as a type of guidance method of this thesis, combining the normative research and empirical research methods of political science and using a literature research method and comparative research method as well as concrete method. The Chinese participatory democracy as a research object will be collecting and comparing relevant information, relating books and78papers of literature as it tries to clarify the theory of participatory democracy theory process maturing from generation to generation through the process of exploration and practice. In theory, participatory democracy and democratic participation in our country is based on the reality and the inadequacy of our country’s socialist democracy construction and find solutions.
