Taking the state-owned enterprise unemployed person in Wuhan, Hubei Province as study object, with questionnaire survey method, case interview method and literature method, the study described the general situation of the state-owned enterprise unemployed person's social security and their cognition of it, gave a brief influence factors analysis, and then discussed the sociological connotation behind the phenomenon of the unemployed person's behavior of taking part in social insurance, and at last, proposed the corresponding countermeasures and thought. The study is divided into five parts:The first part, reviewed a series of studies related to the study, explained the study design, including research purposes, significance, innovation, rationale, assumptions, the basic concepts, research contents, veins, and methods etc, and then described the overview of study sample.The second part, described the general situation of living and social security of the objects of this study. From endowment insurance, hospitalization insurance and unemployment insurance, the study analyzed the social insurance situation of the unemployed. The social relief situation contented Subsistence allowances and other forms. In general, the state-owned enterprise unemployed person's social security situation was ordinary and their social insurance coverage needed improving.The third part, chose independents which significantly influencing the unemployed paying for endowment insurance and hospitalization insurance, with Binary Logistic Regression; analyzed the institutional and individual influence factors, and discussed the sociological connotation behind this behavior. And then, it was described and analyzed that the cognition of social security from the unemployed person, and person's influence on each other. The results showed that the unemployed person's social security situation was affected by the institutional and personal influence factors, cognition, and their influence on each other, especially the institutional factor.The fourth part, illustrated the influence of social security on the unemployed person's life, and the division of the group of the unemployed person. The results showed that social security had some effect on reducing collective actions of the unemployed person, and that a more than 10% subgroup was divided from the group of the unemployed person, which was better than the other one in both income and social security situation.The fifth part, summarized the research conclusions, put forward several proposals and thoughts of how to increase the coverage of the unemployed person's social insurance, and how to improve their social security situation. Finally, there was still some shortage needing covering.
