National identity is a kind of self cognition of a country about its own characteristics and its international status and role,which is constructed by selectively accepting external feedback and identification in the interaction with other actors.The construction of a country's national identity will be affected by its own political and economic system,the level of productivity development,the international power structure and other material factors,as well as historical and cultural traditions,the quality and willingness of policy makers and other conceptual factors.After the collapse of the Soviet Union,Russia experienced a short period of confusion.It did not know who it was and where it was going.It was difficult to determine its national identity and national interests,and faced a severe identity crisis.From the end of 1992 to the beginning of 1993,Yeltsin government carried out the "one-sided" Pro western policy and constructed its national identity by imitating the "successful" Western actors at that time.Although Russia has made a series of courtesies,its identity has not been recognized by western countries.In the case of the failure to construct the identity of "western country",Russia realized the importance of its traditional history,culture and national identity,so it constructed the identity of "Eurasian country".After Putin came to power,Russia continued to construct the identity of "Eurasian country".From the current situation of Russia's national identity construction,the construction of "Eurasian country" has achieved good results,not only realizing domestic political stability and economic development,but also improving Russia's international prestige.From the perspective of Russia's national development strategy,the construction of "world power" identity has been Russia's vision since the collapse of the Soviet Union,and it is also the goal of Russia's future national identity construction.However,at present,Russia's national strength is not enough to support this national identity.In the process of building Russia's national identity,there are some difficulties and obstacles,such as the constraints of political and economic development and the remaining "imperial thinking" at the domestic level,and the constraints of western countries' containment attitude and policy towards Russia at the international level.In order to further build Russia's national identity,Russia must overcome these difficulties and obstacles,At the same time,the orientation of Russia's national identity must be in line with its own development.Any national identity orientation beyond the reality will only have a negative impact on its own development and the relationship with other state actors.
