Today in the 21st century, globalization which has becoming an irreversible trend is sweeping the whole world. The development of globalization has deepened the intercommunion and cooperation in various fields, making the relations between states tighter and tighter. At the same time, as an important parameter of testing the continuity and change of the world polity and economy, international regimes also get great development and all kinds of rules, procedures become more and more mature, which has become a bright spot changes in the world. The study about the international regimes has a long history but it mostly focuses on these aspects: the function of the international regimes in the international cooperation; the development of the internal regimes in the specific functional fields and the development trends and prospects of it. Obviously, it is very insufficient for the academia to concern about the participation of the states to the international regimes. In the new century, the relationship between China and the international regimes becomes more and closer. In such a situation, what kind of external strategy it should take, what roles it should play have been the most important issues in this period. However, everything has it's own historical origins, so is the relationship between China and the international regimes. Then, it has important practical significance to recall the process and the roles China has played during the participation to the international regimes. This paper will be based on the perspective of China to make a logical summary about the change of the roles which China has played from the post-war till today, by recalling the process of the participation for China to the international regimes. With the combination of the related theories of the international regimes such as the structural realism, liberal institutionalism and constructivism, I will analyze the different roles China played and the different measures China took in the different stages and the deep-seated reasons of them. According to the dissertation, I will conduct a speculative analysis for the roles and measures China will choose in the future.
