Volunteer service is non-profit and unprofessional actions of aid without payment that anyone willingly distributes his own time, skill, resource or benevolence to neighbors, community or society. Volunteer service in China has made remarkable achievements through more than ten years'development. Community volunteer service, youth volunteer service and common volunteer service provide abundant volunteer services in many fields, such as technology popularization, poverty alleviation, education, environment protection, agricultural production support, medical treatment and sanitation, elderly assistance, disable assistance, security maintenance, legal aid, great activity, etc. As a gracious social activity and an important social commonweal, volunteer service plays active role in fields of remedying social security, driving social change, promoting social virtue, and hastening social harmony, and it is also of important significance for building socialism harmonious society and pushing human's advancement.
