This dissertation analyzes the special compensation in salvage at sea, mainly analyzing the inadequacy of special compensation and putting forward suggestions on the amendments to the provisions on special compensation in Maritime Code of the People's Republic of China. Chapter 1 is about the forming process of special compensation. Special compensation came into being with the development of salvage practice and the demand of environmental protection.
