A Study On Migrant Workers' Dissemination Function In Urbanization

Migrant workers, is a special social class which emerges at the stage of social reforming historical period. Although at present the orientation to the migrant workers group has developed from initial"the influx"to today"urban builders"and"industrial worker's important component", although the government, mass media and the citizen have also given their massive supports, attention and containing to the migrant workers, this group is still faced with the lost of rights, interests and the humanities concern .Their psychological barrier is unable to eliminate. They cannot realize their own benefit demand. In fact, migrant workers group enjoys the traditional village civilization and modern metropolis civilization and communicates them. Its cross city's and countryside's cultural dissemination function has vital practical significance to the advancement of our country's urbanization.Without a doubt, the peasant, the country and the agriculture are very important to Chinese society. Under the new historical condition, migrant workers are the core of them. This thesis takes the migrant workers group as an example, from the point of view of journalism and communication, using the fundamental research method and the real diagnosis analysis unifies, analyzes the imbalance of the information quantity and the content from city to countryside which is disseminated by migrant workers.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part outlines sociologically the time and the historical background of the migrant workers as well as their edge circumstances.The second part illustrates the flow pattern of migrant workers from city to countryside, analyzes the orientation of civic culture to the countryside and the city demonstrative effect on the peasants in the countryside, and summarizes the imbalanced information flow conducted by migrant workers.The third part points out that the current situation of culture and information in the countryside,"superiority proliferation"principle of civic culture, together with the existence of"information isolated island"are restricts to the normal realization of migrant workers'dissemination function. But the imbalanced information flow of migrant workers from city to countryside not only can lead to the misreading and distortation of the metropolis culture and information among this group, but also can cause misleading information and its deviation from the norm when migrant workers return to their own native villages.In the fourth part, we ponders over how to display the migrant workers'culture dissemination function cross city and countryside: the government setting up the idea of"information society", taking the migrant workers as a bridge between city and countryside, highlighting the leading and constructive role of the mass media, and improving migrant workers's knowledge and their media accomplishment. It's hoped that the analysis and reflection can provide reference to the construction of socialism new rural.
