After the conclusion of the Cold War, the international stage underwent a major change, while the chance of a major war breaking out became much smaller, international society was far from peaceful. The frequency of international crises and the instability of the international scene posed a serious challenge to international security, becoming a major strategic threat to the world peace and development. On the basis of a psychological cognition analysis of international crisis management theory and with an eye towards exploring ways to protect world peace, this essay utilizes the comparative model theory to explore the future of crisis management developmentThe first chapter explores the basic concepts of crisis and crisis management. Crisis management refers to doing all that is possible to keep a situation under control. Crisis management has two goals: preventing war and resolving crises. Crisis management seeks to limit, offset and control conflicting interests through finding, promoting, and expanding the common interests of two parties. Finding the intersection of involved countries interests, crisis management thus averts the crisis and prevents war.The second chapter discusses international crisis management from the perspective of psychology, arguing that the psychological and cognitive features of humanity play an important role in crisis management. The psychological factors influencing crisis management include the way that information is transmitted, the images used, false perceptions, etc.The third chapter discusses a psychological cognition analysis of China-US military plane collision. The images and false perceptions have great effects on the China-US military plane collision. The fourth chapter is the conclusion of the China-US military plane collision. The incident caused serious damage to China-US relations, but it also accelerated the process of mutual understanding. A summary of the lessons from this experience from the perspective of crisis management is of great significance to the development of future China - American relations.
