Research On The Quality Of The Rural Elder's Life In The Vicissitude Course Of The Ideal Of The Values On Respecting For The Elder

To help the elderly to enjoy the sense of security, support, worthiness and happiness, it is the remarkable symbol of civilized society, and is also one of the most important issues, which every national ruling class being in power must take seriously attention to solve. In our country with the background of reforming social system and the aging of the population, the countryside becomes suddenly the main battlefield of the aging. For social cultural values ideas of respect for elders changing, in the countryside, the phenomenon that "Familial member as parents has already been elder, but posterities do not support them or raise weakly" has been serious daily-by-daily. So the aging problem has become a seriously social trouble endangering our social stability and the harmony.In view of the situation above, this article hits into the subject from the traditional culture of respecting for elders. Basing on the perspective of the sociological theory of the cultural function and the conflict, using the method of field investigation, unifying the way of questionnaire survey, individual interview and the literature, we has carried on the investigation and the analysis to the elder's living concept and the quality of life in the countryside of two counties in Hunan, where value ideas of respecting for the elder changing and evolving. The findings have confirmed the basic assumption which this thesis draws up: The rural elderly, molded and contaminated by traditional culture such as family concept and so on, whose quality of life and the feeling are obviously related with the social value ideas of respecting for the elders; In any event, the family supporting pattern still fits into the elder's heart and becomes their ingrained ideal. That is to say, the family supporting pattern is in harmony with China's culture, the elder's physical and psychological specialty, the Chinese family feathers and the social bases.As the author's opinion, the essence of the family endowment is a continual "play-chess" during the process of carrying on their own status and the benefit "gambling" between generations. So endowment disclosed the relationship of interests' distribution in the course of the circulation and evolution of value ideals respecting for the elderly. As we know, the rural elder's expectations anticipated to material life are very low. The researching result shows that, under the condition that if the elder's most basic living demand can be satisfied, their feeling of happiness mainly comes from the children and descendants' filial piety in emotion significance. If guaranteeing that the elder's quality of life promotes comprehensively, it is necessary to balance the benefit contradiction and the conflict in the value ideas changing process, to promote families harmonious, so as to make the family endowment obtain the powerful cultural support to renew the function strongly. Therefore, it is urgent to make an effort to the idea innovation and the policy design diligently, in order to construct new balanced mechanism between the generations' conflict and the cooperation in the changing process of value ideals of treating the elder with filial respect. This article provides some feasible basis, politic consultation and the exploring suggestion for our party and government to establish a rural supporting system in order to realize the long-lasting aspiration to be supported sufficiently that the old peasants have been cherishing.
