With the advent of China's knowledge-based economy era,academic competition has entered a "white-hot" stage,which has gradually penetrated from towns to villages.As an adjustment response made by rural families to this situation,the old man accompanying their grandchildren to study has become a rural social phenomenon that should not be underestimated.However,this seemingly family decision-making behavior has also brought various influences to the entire society.In order to gain a deeper understanding of the dialectical impact of the phenomenon of rural elders accompanying their grandchildren to study on society,families,and the old people themselves,and to improve relevant policies and services to support rural families and education,and to meet the urgent and real needs of the rural elders who accompany their grandchildren to study,the author made a field research on the group of rural elders accompanying his grandchildren to study in Y village,Xinyang city,by means of observation and interview methods to investigate and understand the needs of elderly people who accompany their grandchildren in Y village.According to the investigation and the literature summary of the related research results of the existing accompanying reading and intergenerational education,the author analyzes the current situation and causes of the elderly people accompanying their grandchildren to study: the continuous development of the accompanying reading phenomenon in rural areas is also subject to influenced by Chinese traditional culture and family's own ideas.This article proposes the following suggestions based on the study and reflection on the phenomenon of rural elders accompanying their grandchildren to study: the government needs to strengthen the management of the rural education system and improve the education policy for migrant children,so that rural children can benefit more in education;further increase the intensity of rural investment construction,reduce the current situation of rural family separation;pay attention to the internal construction of township schools,provide rural students with more comprehensive campus security,and reduce the worries of patriarch;integrate families into the perspective of social policies,build and implement family-friendly policies,and restore families to the traditional function of providing for the aged and caring for the young;At the same time,in the process of policy adjustment,we should also do a good job to meet the needs of rural elders who accompany their grandchildren to study,the government provides financial supports suitable for these rural elders,and plan the "living area" for them;the community should bring the elderly group who accompany their grandchildren to study to the community management,improve the construction of relevant facilities and provide strong community support;social workers provide more specific and professional services to meet the needs of the elderly based on the communityplatform.
