Abstract/Summary:
With the advancement of urbanization and the transfer of rural labor force, the proportion of the elderly in China’s rural population is getting larger and larger.Compared with the urban population, the population aging problem has become a problem that cannot be ignored, especially the old-age care problem of the elderly in rural areas. In order to actively deal with the crisis of rural aging and realize the problem of "providing for the old" for the elderly in rural areas,China began to carry out pilot work in rural areas in batches in 2009,namely the new rural social endowment insurance. The study of the impact of the new rural insurance on the quality of life of the elderly in rural areas to a certain extent to improve the living conditions and economic level of the elderly to provide practical Suggestions,on the other hand, the government to improve the new rural insurance policy to provide theoretical Suggestions. This paper makes use of the panel data of "Chinese elderly health influencing factors investigation and research"(CLHLS)in 2008,2012 and 2014 to investigate the impact of the new rural insurance on the quality of life of rural elderly from an empirical perspective.Four indicators were designed to comprehensively investigate different dimensions of life quality of rural elderly, including health status and nutrition intake, economic status, mental health and spiritual comfort, elderly care and medical services. In order to minimize the impact of endogeneity and other problems, this paper adopts the empirical model of double difference(psm-did)of propensity score matching, that is,using the double difference method(DID)to estimate the effect of nongbao on the quality of life of rural elderly people based on the propensity score matching(PSM)of all samples. The research findings show that: the participation in the new rural insurance significantly improved the comprehensive quality of life of the elderly in rural areas;Participation in the new rural insurance significantly improved the daily exercise, nutrition and diet of the elderly in rural areas, but the new rural insurance did not significantly affect the spiritual comfort of the elderly; The new rural insurance has a great influence on the insured elderly in different regions. The effect of the new rural insurance on the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly aged 80 years and above is significantly better than that of the elderly aged below 80 years. Finally,in view of the analysis to draw a conclusion, put forward relevant policy recommendations.
