Are The People Political Animal?

In recent years, Chinese academia began to focus on studying the ideology of Hannah Arendt. This dissertation studies Hannah Arendt and Aristoteles's ideology and their views to "Man is by nature a political animal", analyzing Hannah Arendt's political views from the two aspects of "man" and "politics" and evaluating Arendt's political views comprehensively from the positive and negative aspects. On the one hand, I made a positive evaluation for Arendt's views in this dissertation, especially that she still can give a fair evaluation to the politics after being hurt by Totalitarianism and make sure that politics can bring people "good". After analyzing the reasons why Arendt can give a fair evaluation to the politics, I agree with the viewpoint that her theory can help people in modern society have a healthy political psychology. On the other hand, this dissertation analyzed the disadvantage of Arendt's ideology and the problems ideology faced in real society, to prevent people from the overly enthusiastic attitude to politics. At last, on the basis of discussion, this dissertation came up with the view that we should have a correct attitude for the politics and "Man is by nature a political animal". We should understand the politics correctly from comprehensive perspective of politics' nature and status in current society and make sure that politics can bring us a happy life. In the meanwhile, we should correct the overly enthusiastic attitude to politics, preventing people from becoming the slavers of politics. In addition, we should distinguish the ideal from reality, finding a balanced point between them.
