A Review On The Researches By Tang Baolin (1979-2006)

Tang Baolin is a well-known scholar in the realm of contemporary history of China. Since 1979, he forcus on the researches of Chen Duxiu. After near 30 years endeavors, he has achieved the extraordinary achievement. In this article, my thesis is aiming at exploring the achievements and the thoughts of Tang Baolin in his studies on the history of Chen Duxiu. On the basis of using the former research and combining with Tang Baolin 's academic career, this essay will be guided by dialectical and historical materialism theory and method, concerns systemically and comprehensively Tang Baolin 's academic achievements as well as the academic thought, and tries to inquiry into Tang Baolin 's learning concept and historical ideology by using comparison research method. By comparing researches on Chen Duxiu between Tang Baolin and other scholars after the past 30 years of reform and opening up, I conclude that Tang Baolin has made prominent contribution to the researches of Chen Duxiu. He has his own unique history research method. The scholar's character and the research spirit of Tang Baolin are worthy of our studying and inheriting, His learning method and history thought are also a very large treasure-house. We should study his works to excavate this treasure-house, It is the purpose of this paper.
