A Research On UN Peacekeeping Mechanism And Practice

After the World War II, UN plays more and more important role insafeguarding world peace and safety, dealing with regional conflicts and fights, and conducting humanitarianism salvation. This article illustrates the acting system of UN peacekeeping mechanism and three principles of peacekeeping movement systematically. There are three stages of historical process since the UN peacekeeping movements' foundation which also gets deep illustrated and analyzed in this article. Based on analyze of the success and failure of UN peacekeeping movement, the article is focus on the challenges and problems the peacekeeping mechanism confronted with and discusses the future of the mechanism..After the cold war, international relations get profound transformation that UN confronts with a possibility to be marginalized and the peacekeeping mechanism also faces many problems. However, as an international organization which has the most universal significance, UN can't be replaceable in safeguarding world safety and peace compared with other countries or international organizations. UN is still the main power to safeguard world safety and peace and continue to play active role in dealing with regional conflicts.
